  3. It was time. I took my four-year-old daughter to a new salon to get our hair cut.

"How about something layered?" I asked.

"Sure thing - let's start with your daughter," replied the stylist. In just 15 minutes my four-year-old's golden locks became something to covet.

"Can you do the same for me?" I asked.

No. Apparently she couldn't. I should mention that we visited the salon that day because my daughter had taken the liberty of removing her pony tail with some dull, round-tipped safety scissors and needed some 'professional help' to finish the job. Only now do I realize that I had it all backwards. Maybe if I had taken a few snips of my hair before visiting the stylist she could have given me the haircut I dreamed of instead of this mullet that has me pegging my pants and singing "Thriller" like it's 1984.

I could use a little assistance, please.

  4. back in high school my friend needed some one to practice with, so I thought it would be cool to have a "hair makeover" back in the day i used to have long dark hair, never done anything to it before. So she decides to do highlight in my entire head ha ha ha oh my! after the whole process I was a blonde!!!!! ( a shocker for me because I am fairly dark) ha ha. I couldn't believe my eyes.... my ends were horrible as well so she decides to cut it "to make it better" she cut most of my hair off, I literally wanted to cry ( but didnt say anything, to not make her feel bad, I mean she was learning) anyway, by the end of the day I was a blonde with really short hair ha ha. It seriously took me like a year to get my hair healthy again. I would really like to have something done professionally, so i can actually enjoy it this time!

  5. I have had just about nothing but bad haircuts! I have thin hair that doesn't grow. at age 10 i had a way too short cut that made me look like a boy. When i was 9 months pregnant with my daughter my husband told me that me new haircut made me look rounder. Since my kids, all i ever seem to do is pull my hair back in a pony tail. I would love to find a hair cut that actually works for not only my lifestyle but my face shape ect.

  6. I love all these comments, probably because I can relate to each of them. The worst thing I ever did to my hair I did to myself (don't be scared it was 11 years ago in hair school). I bleach out my whole head and cut it into a pixie cut 1 inch all over my head! It was fried and couldn't possibly get any shorter. My mom said I looked like a baby duck!

  7. p.s. Jaimie you would look great with any color of hair! You can always do semi-perm that way it's easier to change frequently.

  8. Do you need a reminder of the day, that I put my hair in two pony tails and chopped em off? Thanks for always being there to save me from my hair disasters!

  9. I have really thick hair with a slight wave. I have had more scary experiences than good the last several years. I was at a hair school to get my hair done. I asked for a one inch trim, and an elegant stooping bang over my eye. I was growing out my hair, and it was finally past my mid back. I ended up with blunt bangs across my forehead, and hair at my shoulders. I cried all day!

  11. When I was pregnant my hair was bugging me so bad because it was shedding a ton so I was talking to a friend and she said she new how to cut hair and cut hair all the time...I asked her to cut to my shoulders and layer it and she ended up cutting it shorter then my chin and it looked like a 5 year old cut it, I went the next few months staying inside because it looked so bad and since i've had my baby I don't do anything with my hair or makeup which has been 6 months, I really need a new look for my husband because having a baby now I dont show him as much attention and I want to do something special for him.
